Hi, My name is Paul Matthews and I’m a professional triathlete from Australia. Played all sports when I was young but especially soccer, swimming and running but when I turned 15 started concentrating on triathlon.

Was selected in my first Australian Duathlon team in 2000 and first Triathlon team in 2001 then made 4 consecutive junior teams. Highest placing being 15th in the Junior Elite and U/23 Categories but I won the U/19 Age Group World Championship Title in 2001 In Edmonton, Canada. Was selected in the first Australian Institute of Sport Triathlon Squad and I’ve also been involved in the Queensland Academy of Sport. 2x Australian U/23 Champion.

I’ve been racing since I was 11 but my first Triathlon when I was 9 at Tweed Heads Boat Harbour. Now racing and competing professionally over the Olympic Distance (1500m swim/40km bike/ 10km run) but also the Half Ironmans (1.9km/90/21).
